Editorial policy
Stellar Movie Journal aims to make film discussion clear, careful and useful. We distinguish what a film shows from what we infer, and we make room for correction when a detail is wrong.
Accuracy and clarity
We check factual statements against material appropriate to the subject and avoid claiming certainty where the evidence or interpretation is limited. Articles focus on explaining film choices rather than presenting unsupported claims about artists or production histories. When a point depends on interpretation, we make that status clear.
Independence and partnerships
Editorial decisions are made separately from commercial arrangements. Sponsored or partner material is clearly labelled as such, and a partnership does not guarantee favourable editorial coverage. We do not accept payment in exchange for disguising advertising as independent criticism.
Corrections
If you spot a factual error or unclear passage, use the Contact page and identify the article and point at issue. We review credible correction requests and amend material when warranted; significant changes are identified in the article where appropriate.
Images and tools
Some illustrations on the site may be generated with artificial intelligence. Illustrations are not presented as documentary images or evidence from a film production, and we aim to make their illustrative role clear.
A movie rewards a second look
We treat film as made work: choices in a scene can be noticed, compared and discussed without needing specialist knowledge.
